Aircraft Towing Injury Citation

The Washington State Department of Labor and Industries proposed a $3,600 fine for a worker injury that occurred at Boeing’s Everett plant in February 2012 when a 787 was being towed along a taxiway. The state found that Boeing did not supervise and enforce their accident prevention program in a manner that was effective in practice. The state also found that the lighting along the taxiway was inadequate (no penalty was assessed for this specific violation).
