Safety Violations on North Dakota Oil Rig

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) cited Halliburton for two serious safety violations at an oil rig in Watford City, North Dakota, where a worker was killed in January 2013. The worker was fatally injured when struck by a high-pressure line while servicing a well. OSHA cited Halliburton for failing to secure or restrain high-pressure lines and to control the release of stored energy from a pressure line. OSHA proposed $14,000 in fines.
