Medicare Advantage and Prescription Drug Plan Violations

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) fined Humana $3.1 million for Medicare Advantage-Prescription Drug and Prescription Drug Plan violations discovered during an audit conducted in April and May of 2015. CMS found that Humana’s “systemic” failure to comply with requirements related to Medicare Parts C and Part D resulted in enrollees experiencing inappropriate delays or denials in receiving covered benefits or increased out-of-pocket costs.
