Aircraft Quality Control Problems

The Federal Aviation Administration proposed civil penalties against Boeing Commercial Airplane Group for not reporting quality control problems with its aircraft in 1997 and 1998. The fine covers two incidents, Boeing’s failure to immediately report cracks on aircraft parts and failing to ensure its subcontractors adhered to Boeing’s quality control policies and procedures.
