Lack of Safety Protection for Contract Employee

The Minerals Management Service (MMS) of the Department of Interior fined Exxon Mobil Corp. for a violation occurring on March 19, 2009. According to MMS: “A contract employee was observed working on the edge of a deck that had no handrails. The employee was not wearing a personal flotation device or fall protection.”
