December 2008 Hornet Jet Crash
Don Yoon’s wife, daughters, and mother-in-law were killed on December 8, 2008, when a F/A-18D Hornet Marine Corps jet crashed into their home in the University City area of San Diego, California. Yoon sued the federal government and Boeing for negligence. He claims the government violated its own policies and procedures for maintaining and operating the jet and that defects in the jet, which was designed and manufactured by Boeing, led to the crash.
