Licensing Violations in Neonatal Care Unit

The University of Chicago Medical Center settled a whistleblower lawsuit that accused the hospital of overcrowding babies in its Neonatal Intensive Care Unit from 1997 to 2005 in violation of state regulations and seeking reimbursement from Illinois Medicaid for care provided on days when the unit was not in compliance with those regulations.
