Prohibited Acquisition Activity In Nevada

The Nevada attorney general fined UnitedHealth Group $1 million for violating restrictions placed on its 2008 acquisition of Sierra Health Services. The attorney general’s office cleared UnitedHealth to acquire local competitor Sierra Health Services on the condition that it not acquire another local competitor, Fiserv Nevada. However, UnitedHealth later acquired or controlled all but one of Fiserv Nevada’s active customers, employees, and other assets.
