New York City Sick Leave Violation
It was reported that FedEx was fined $33,600 and ordered to pay $15,000 in restitution for violating New York City’s sick leave law, which guarantees five paid sick days at businesses with five or more employees. According to media accounts, employees at some of the FedEx’s 60 local retail branches were denied sick leave between April and December 2014. FedEx was also ordered to credit sick leave to 165 employees.
