Fisher v. Johns Hopkins Home Care Group (Disability Discrimination)
Johns Hopkins Home Care Group, Inc. (JHHCG), a home health care provider owned and operated by Johns Hopkins Health System and Johns Hopkins University, agreed to pay $160,000 to settle an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) lawsuit brought by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). The EEOC alleged that JHHCG discriminated against employee Ray Ellen Fisher, failed to provide her with a reasonable accommodation when she returned to work after receiving medical treatment for breast cancer, and retaliated against her for bringing her claims to the EEOC.
