Beaumont, TX Refinery Explosion Lawsuits

Workers at the ExxonMobil refinery in Beaumont, Texas sued the company for injuries sustained in an explosion and fire at the facility in April 2013. The explosion and fire occurred at a heat exchanger unit inside the refinery. The lawsuits alleged that Exxon did not take reasonable steps to warn the workers of the presence of hydrocarbons, monitor the heat exchanger unit, or adequately maintain the premises. In May 2016, Exxon settled the lawsuits.
