Mayflower, Arkansas Oil Spill – Natural Resource Damage Settlement

In August 2018, the Arkansas state government and the U.S. Department of the Interior resolved Exxon Mobil’s liability for natural resource damages caused by the Mayflower oil spill in March 2013, when a ruptured pipeline spilled approximately 134,000 gallons of crude oil into the town of Mayflower, Arkansas. Exxon agreed to pay the state and federal governments a total of $1.8 million for natural resource cleanup and restoration and other related expenses.
