Failure to Reach France Job Creation Target

General Electric paid €50 million (approx. US$57 million) after falling short of hiring commitments it made to help secure French regulatory approval of its purchase of Alstom SA’s energy business in 2015. GE pledged to create 1,000 jobs but up to that point had added a net of only 25 jobs, according to the French government.
